Roses make me think of corsages on Mother's Day. As a child I remember wearing a little rose corsage made by my mother and grandmother. One single rose, a stem with three leaves, and a bit of ribbon. I remember sitting in church feeling so pretty and special with that little corsage on my shoulder.
Roses make me think of sweet summers as a child. Running around my grandmother's yard and stopping to stick my nose in the cascading rose bush by the side of her house.
Roses make me think of love.
these are really lovely, when that bush is in full bloom should be a gorgeous thing.
ReplyDeleteI remember the corsages also for Mother's Day, my Dad would buy my Mom a huge orchid corsage. Oh such lovely memories.
What beautiful roses, Kathy. I love that full-blown last one and the fitting quotation!

ReplyDeleteWhat lovely images, evoking such sweet memories. I had to smile at your precious corsage story. Were you wearing gloves and black-patent-leather shoes? That's what I remember from my childhood church-going days.
