You know I don't use textures very often, but I couldn't resist sharing this one. Just as the title says, it's a natural texture. Here are the steps I followed to achieve this warm, vintage look...
- waited for evening light
- took camera from the air-conditioned house outside into oppressive heat and humidity
- lens fogged over
- cleaned lens
- lens fogged over
- cleaned lens
- lens fogged over
- just focused and clicked
- tah-dah...natural texture!
Both of these images are straight out of the camera. I did nothing but add a frame!
I didn't know high humidity could make me so happy!
That's great, both of these look lovely!
ReplyDeleteSimplest texture you will ever do :)
ReplyDeletei love it when these kind of happy 'mistakes' happen! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are making lemonade out of lemons, Cathy! Mother Nature provides it all. Lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are good, and the story behind them even better. Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Both of them!
ReplyDeleteI love them both...great job
ReplyDeleteDreamy look - I've gone into the Botanic Garden Arboretum and had the same thing happen.
ReplyDeleteA happy accident with your misty look! That's a positive way to use high humidity! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis happened to me once at sunrise as I was shooting a highly-reflective building - and I LOVED the results! And it works wonderfully with your images - creating a magical, ethereal quality that really enhances these floral beauties.
ReplyDeletesuch a funny description! it HAS been beastly hot and humid lately, hasn't it? today though it's beautiful with winds out of the north and practically non-existent humidity. but maybe humidity isn't such a bad thing if it produces such lovely photos like yours. ; )
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Girlfriend! Beautiful work! I'm glad humidity is good for something besides making my bangs curl! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I am laughing. The shots are wonderful. You created a new texture!
