I went for a little drive Friday, just following roads I haven't been down in years. Much to my delight I saw a sign pointing me to Motley's Pumpkin Patch. The pumpkin patch wasn't open to the public yet, just to school groups, but they were kind enough to let me in to take pictures. They didn't mind, they just couldn't sell me any pumpkins. I took lots of photos and returned yesterday morning to buy my pumpkins and of course take more pictures! I was able to find all the prompts for Scavenger Hunt Sunday at the pumpkin patch.
Our prompts were:
yellow
getting ready
bright
teeny tiny
connections
yellow
pretty yellow flowers along a pumpkin vine
getting ready
sunflower ready to burst open
bright
a wagon load of bright, bumpy pumpkins
teeny tiny
teeny tiny pumpkins
They are teeny tiny compared to the big guys!!

connections
two pumpkins, one stem = twin pumpkins

I had a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch! I've never seen so many shapes, sizes and colors of pumpkins and gourds. The trip certainly put me in the mood for fall!!

I love pumpkin patches. I wonder where I could find one around here. What great captures from your day.
ReplyDeleteEvery one of your post are always over the top. I think there is no way you can top that and then do it again I loved that you got all prompts at one place and when you headed out you had no destination. My favorite, the twins. The sunflower was so sharp and clear.
ReplyDeleteLove that poem which fits in perfectly with your pumpkin patch visit. What a wide assortment you have captured - each one more interesting than the last. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteThese are fun - love pumpkins in every shape and form.
ReplyDeleteThe CONNECTIONS pic is amazing. I wandered our "barn" collecting photos this past week. A fabulous reminder that I LOVE this season. Those BRIGHT bumpy pumpkins are so silly.
ReplyDeleteWhat timely photos - your vivid colors make me smile. The sunflower shot is super!
ReplyDeleteThose bumpy bumpkins are something else! I have never seen any like that.
ReplyDeleteI really love your getting ready picture! It is lovely.
Wasn't that nice of them to let you take pics-and you didn't have to work around any crowds. Cool beans. I saw some yellow flowers like yours in a garden the other day-and one big pumpkin, but my image came out BLAH. Poor set up. You got a great angle. My fave shot is that getting ready sunflower. Happy day to you Cathy.
ReplyDeleteCathy, first of all, I LOVE your header. That's wonderful! Your SHS images are wonderful, too, and really put me in the mood for fall. The color and composition of Yellow is lovely. Getting Ready is so beautiful! I've never seen bumpy pumpkins before. But I have to tell you, that last one made me laugh out loud. "Twins" wasn't exactly what it brought to mind. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness how fun to do all the prompts at the Pumpkin Patch. My favorites were Getting Ready - I like the look of that Sunflower about to burst open.
ReplyDeleteAlso Connections just cracked me up.
Hi Cathy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun fall post this was, love the way you captured each prompt. Great variety of pumpkins and colors you shared. My favorite has to be the TWINS, SOOOOO dang cute. I've never seen this before, I would have bought them just to have them. Thanks for sharing this HAPPY FALL post with us.
I read your post below and am impressed with the changes you made to them. Good for you always learning something new and trying to challenge yourself. I need to learn more about my camera too.
