Happy Mother's Day
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU!!
I wish everyone were as blessed as I am to be raised by a wonderful Mom. Not perfect, who is, but yet she raised us well. She taught us to be honest and kind. We were brought up to know right from wrong. She raised us in Church where we all became Christians. She taught us to walk the life of a Christian, always aware that others could be watching our example. She taught us love. Mom isn't a mother that is a big hugger or kisser. She is a very private person, but we know she loves us. And I love her so much. I'm thankful this Mother's Day that I will be able to see her, take her a gift, give her a hug and say "I LOVE YOU!!"
"Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers, and sisters, aunts and cousins, but only one mother in the whole world."

Welcome May
Can you believe it's already the first week in May!! I'm having real difficulty keeping up with the flying days and weeks. So here we are and it's May. Mother's day is this month, Memorial Day, National Barbecue Month, Hamburger Month, Salad month, and two I can identify with...National Photograph Month and Older Americans Month! And don't forget Nurse's Week and Wildflower Week and Police Week. And so I've read there's a Lumpy Rug Day (we missed this one it's on the 3rd), Beverage Day and International Tuba Day (6th), Iris Day and No Socks Day (8th), and then Lost Sock Memorial Day (9th). This might be a good one...National Train Day (9th). I could go on and on and you would laugh with me. How about Eat What You Want Day, Blame Someone Else Day, Frog Jumping Day, Dance Like A Chicken Day, No Dirty Dishes Day, Sun Screen Day, Water A Flower Day and Save your Hearing Day!! Who in the world thinks of all these things and who in the world celebrates them!! I'll just stick to the common ones and the celebration of Aaron's birth on the thirteenth. He'll be two and you can be sure I'll be posting some pictures of his party.
OK, now on to the May decorations. The small quilt on the door has appliqued flowers in spring colors. I really enjoyed making this one. It was something a little different for me, I don't do a lot of applique.
I really enjoyed making these little flowers. There's a little bit of embroidery for the stems and centers of the flowers.
And along with the flowers come birds, bees, and butterflies.
I don't have very many Mother's decorations, just this needle roll called "A Mother's Love." There's lots of tiny stitches, beads, and a heart charm. I noticed after I uploaded the photo that it's a little blurry, sorry about that. The small house teapot is Ms. Martha's Garden Cottage from Boyd's Bears. The lid opens and it says inside "I picked this bunch for you." Ms. Martha has her hands full of spring flowers.
Another spring Boyd's figurine I have is "Tillie's watering can." If you look close you can see a bunny coming out of the flowers on top of the can. I love the little bitty mouse with the flower. Her name is Sunny McNibble.
And the four-letter word of the month is "BULB". There are tiny flower buttons, a bumble bee button and a butterfly button.
The spring blossoms on the bushes and trees in the the yard are now gone. Most were beat off by the hail, wind, and rain that we've been having. This is the way my azaleas looked after the storms.
Now it's time to buy some annuals to bring color to my yard!
ENJOY YOUR MAY!!
