Spring is in the air, even though it's not quite time for spring. I don't mind the beauty of spring, the flowers, the colors, the rains, the warm breezes, but I am sad that we didn't have a winter. I know many of you did. You had a rough winter with above normal snowfall. You had bone-chilling temperatures. You may have been without power and isolated in your home. Here in Arkansas, we have breezed through this winter. We only had one snowfall. It was a beautiful one, a perfect one; several inches of snow one day, roads clear the next, and life went on. I know I'm different, but, oh how I missed the snow, the cold fresh air, the rosy cheeks, and frozen fingers. This winter wasn't enough for me. I don't think I'm alone in this feeling, just in the minority. People give me strange looks when I say I love the winter months. Today, I'll think of winter one more time and put away my snow boots and heavy coat and move on. Today, I'll go outside and find some small sign of spring to cheer me up!
We didn't have a winter either, which I also sad. I guess we had as much as usual here in the desert but it always seems to me it is never enough. I also was hoping for more rain from El Nino but that didn't happen either. Mother Nature is fickle for sure. That first image of the snow clinging to the trees is so pretty, that is when I like snow when it is nice and clean.
ReplyDeleteI, too, love winter (luckily). Your stark trees are very beautiful - at first I thought you 'd done a b&w. That macro is amazing - such texture!
ReplyDeleteWe had a mild winter here too, Cathy. That's why I got so excited during our snowstorm! I love your snowy trees in the first shot, but also appreciate your close-up on the furry plants!
ReplyDeleteOur winter has, by and large, been mild. The snow has been like Chinese water torture - an inch here, and inch there. All enough to close county schools but not pretty enough for pictures. Slight possibility of less than an inch tonight when a 'cold front comes crashing in'. Thus saith weather.com.
ReplyDeleteWe had a mild winter here as well. I think it snow a couple of times but never much more than an inch or so. It was pretty cold here though. I'm not a winter person so I don't mind not having snow. I did enjoy both your lovely photos here today.
ReplyDeleteI would take your winters any day. Although our winter has been very mild. The bummer is the snow all melts and then it comes back again, just pick one or the other.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had much snow this winter, and what we did have is gone now. But it's still way too early for new spring growth, so everything is sort of gray and beige. It doesn't help that I've had a bad cold so I'm feeling pretty "gray and beige" myself! I'm glad you were able to make the most of the snow you did get. Your winter photos were beautiful! And I can see you're going to take full advantage of spring as it comes, too.
