This post is dedicated to my oldest grandson, Jake. He has recently accepted Christ into his heart and was baptized this weekend. My heart is rejoicing that he has reached this point in his life and chosen to accept Christ as his Saviour. It's a big step in his live. He will have good times and bad times even though he's a Christian, but one thing is certain he will always be a child of God. Nothing can take that away. God will never leave him nor forsake him.
I didn't take pictures during the baptism. I wanted to be watching and listening, not behind a camera lense. The picture below is when he was given his certificate of baptism and his new Bible. You can't see Jake and his Mom and Dad from this angle. They're behind the men passing out the certificates and Bibles. But, I loved the way his younger brother Drew is watching everything that is happening to Jake.
Jake's new Bible is beautiful. It has a soft brown leather cover with his name and a beautiful cross on it. Jakes was so proud of it. After the service he was outside, the breeze was blowing and when he opened his Bible the wind softly blew the pages.
The smile on his face shows the joy he felt in his heart!
Words are not enough to say what my heart feels. My heart is filled with so much love and joy for Jake, I can't even begin to describe it! As he starts his new Christian life, I'm glad he has such a loving family to help and support him.
Rejoice today that there is a God. That he sent his son to die for us. That all we have to do for eternal life is realize we are sinners and ask Christ into our hearts as our personal Saviour.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosovever believeth in him should not perish, but have everylasting life." John 3:16
Just teared up reading this post. It is a blessing beyond words when someone you love so much is saved. And your post put into words perfectly the humbling truth that all we have to do is acknowledge and accept the gift of salvation.

I am so proud of Jake and I love that he is ecstatic about being a christian! He does have the "joy, joy, joy, joy down in his heart" and he is spreading that joy to all of us. Thank you so much for coming and being a part of this special day. He will have wonderful memories of this special day! Love you!!
