"It is the color closest to light. In its utmost purity it always implies
the nature of brightness and has a cheerful, serene, gently
stimulating character. Hence, experience teaches us that yellow makes
a thoroughly warm and comforting impression."
- Johann Wolfgang Geothe
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat unusual orange flowers which I don't recognize. The vase and the embroidery are most elegant! An interesting quotation by Goethe who is noticing the effect of the light on colour.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful montage and tribute to color, Cathy! I would call that a yellow-orange, which I love.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Cathy! Such a pretty vase and lovely embroidered linen, and those flowers are a beautiful shade.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful, vibrant yellow! I love your mosaic!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and I love the mosaic you've created. The flower in the top right corner looks as though it's glowing - such an amazing colour - and I love how the embroidery echoes it.
ReplyDeleteYellow is such a lovely accent color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love this ode to yellow - the flowers and their embroidery counterpoint.
ReplyDeleteEach petal exquisite! Love the embroidery.
ReplyDeleteGreat staging. I really haven't thought much about the color yellow. But through your shots I think I will take another look at yellow. Golden is good.
ReplyDeleteOh my....love these orange flowers. Visiting from Be Still 52!
ReplyDeleteAh Yellow. Always been my favorite.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful collage Cathy! The embroidery adds the right soft touch to the colors...the poem is so well said about light and color.
ReplyDeleteOrange is not a favorite for me for apparel or decorations, but a splash of that happy color, especially in flowers, can turn any day a little brighter. Thanks for sharing.
