I have lived in this house for 38 years.
I have sat in my swing hundreds of hours.
But, today held a first for me!
I've been trying very hard to get a good picture of a bluebird.
Today I sat in my swing so very, very still,
camera on the tripod focused on the bluebird house,
and waited.
My waiting paid off, I did get a couple of good shots.
But, being very still also brought a big surprise.
I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye,
turned,
and there to my surprise were two peacocks!
Where in the world did they come from?
They were out in the bright midday sun and
they never stopped moving while they pecked the ground.
My camera never stopped clicking.
I was terrified I'd not get a clear picture.
Stillness and patience can sometimes be greatly rewarded!
Here's my sweet bluebird...
Such a great day for me!
"Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory"
Revelation 19:7
Those were cool peacocks! Thanks for showing us!! From Aaron
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! You really did have a great day...your sweet little bluebird (great pic!) and those other two gorgeous blue birds as a bonus.
ReplyDeleteWow! I have never seen anything like that! The bluebird is really sweet, too :-)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I think I'll have to borrow a chair, go outside my porch, sit and wait with my long lens ... and see what appears. I guarantee it won't be peacocks. Such a fun post!
ReplyDeletegorgeous birdies. they really are beautiful creatures. we have neighbors that have them as pets & they fly over every once in a blue moon. it has been a while though. have a great week. rainy here. ( :
ReplyDeletecathy!! oh my gosh! just the bluebird would have been an awesome capture, but peacocks too!! how awesome!! do they live in wild in your woods? that is the neatest thing! and you captured them so perfectly...their brilliant color just pops in your shots. yay!!
ReplyDeleteWhat excitement! You got some great shots of the peacocks -- they are gorgeous birds!! They can be very noisy too, so you'll hear them if they stay nearby. Your bluebird looks so tiny compared to the big birds. Well done, Cathy!
ReplyDeleteLovely bluebird and peacocks! That's amazing (and random!!). How brilliant that you were already set up with your tripod on the porch. Great captures. :)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow - what an amazing treat. I can't imagine two peacocks just wandering through my yard. Crazy! Great shots of them.
ReplyDeleteThey all are crips shots, you did a great job! Gorgeous birds and I really love the vibrant blue/green colors.
ReplyDeleteOkay, when you wished for a "blue" bird, I doubt that you were thinking of those beautiful peacocks! How strangely thrilling was that! It just makes you wonder - where did they come from? It's not like they are native to the woods of Arkansas :) What a wondrous surprise.
ReplyDeleteWell how cool is that, just goes to show you if you wait they will come, :) so good Cathy and again how cool is that? Love your sweet little blue bird also
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing peacocks, Cathy. I'm glad you captured that little bluebird with something interesting in his beak!
