Linked with Kim's Friday Finds.
I've also decided to try something new on Fridays. Nancy at A Rural Journal has a link up called Random 5 Friday. Nancy describes it as "where you share 5 random facts about you, your day, your pets, your kids, whatever!" I'm not sure about this, because I get mind block when I have to think randomly. But, I'll be brave and give it a try for a while.
Fact #1
I bought myself some new socks this week. I have the most BORING collection of socks, mostly white. So, I decided to spruce up my sock drawer with a little color!
Fact #2
My favorite store bought Christmas candy is Chocolate Covered Cherries. This is the last one! I could buy some more, but I'd eat them all year long and that's not a good thing!
Fact #3
I don't know what path I'll be following this year. Do I want to have a "one little word?" Where do I want to go with my photography? What do I want to learn? This is too stressful...I'll think about it later!
Fact #5
My hear goes pitter-patter really fast when I see cool shadows!
Fact #5
Ummmmm! I sometimes see weird things in nature. Like this. When I looked at these vines twined around a knot on a tree branch I saw an eye looking back at me. Do you see it? Please don't tell me if your answer is no!
That wasn't so hard!
I did find some randomness to talk about!
I think you did great at randomness :) I saw the eye immediately. I have white socks for walking and working out, but where we live I need colorful, printed smart wool socks all winter long. I like your new ones!
ReplyDeletei love your socks. so cute. i love getting my mom fun socks (usually really loud colors) for Christmas & other special events. ( :
ReplyDeleteWelcome to both Friday Finds and Random 5 Friday. You will find yourself thinking ahead to Fridays as you stumble upon and discover things through the week. Chocolate covered cherries are a weakness of mine as well. I only allow myself to buy them at Christmas time and then, only 1 box.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you mean ... you couldn't do random facts? You're a natural! And those socks are cool beans! Yes ... I saw the eye before I read the fact. Honest. So happy to have you at both these linkups.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I chuckled to hear you raided the squirrels' stash...them suckers are always raiding my feeders! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy, love that little cache of acorns! Chocolate covered cherries are also my son's favorite. I like your randomness.
ReplyDeleteThose were great random facts about you with photos to illustrate. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI see the eye....I saw it before I read your explanation!
ReplyDeleteWell Cathy, you have found a nice array of photos for your Random Five and Friday finds! I do love photo number 5 with the spiky case and the shadow. Fun new socks! I love making life more amusing with things like this! I gave fun socks to my daughter and grandson this year! Beautiful big acorns on that first photo. I'm looking forward to seeing your photography throughout the year in whatever direction it takes!
ReplyDeleteALWAYS love going on walks with you. You see the coolest things. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou know I always love your posts and your insights into photography, love how you placed the chocolate on the joy plate and the facts are great really great.
ReplyDeleteThere you go again! Wonderful images...and what lovely socks. I'm having sock envy now. Love that vine image, it really does look like the eye is watching us.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading these "random" facts about you - what fun to get to know you better. Love your new colorful socks and yes, I do indeed see an "eye" looking back at us.
ReplyDeleteTotally see that eye. No worries. Love those snappy new socks too!
ReplyDeleteThis was a great Random 5 post. I did see the eye in the vines, I love finding things like that in nature.
ReplyDeleteThe shadow shot was also quite cool looking.
I have mostly plain socks in different colors. Very rarely buy patterned socks (except for holidays) but I like your choice.
You picked the right kind of Chocolate covered cherries. I love the ones with the clear liquid and hate the ones with that sickening sweet white goo.
Nice set of facts--one obvious but unstated fact is that you have an eye for detail. It shows in the unique things you find on your walks as well as in the prose you use to describe your finds. Good job!
ReplyDeleteP.S. My word for the year is "thrive."
Yes, I see the eye! Lovely new socks. Yes, a whole new year. It's a lot to ponder. Happy New Year to you, Cathy. I will send you snow if I can...
ReplyDeleteYou did wonderfully! And chocolate covered cherries? Oh my -- the best! :)
