Walk and Click Wednesday ~ April 3, 2013

It's a cold, rainy Wednesday morning. I'm reminded of another rainy day last week when I went for a walk in the rain. It wasn't this cold, in fact it was a very mild day.

We tend to shy away from getting out on rainy days. We hide in our houses and wish for better weather. I know it's not always very pleasant to walk in the rain. We must wear the raincoat, that's too hot, take a chance on getting wet and muddy, and protect our cameras. But, every once in a while, it's worth the effort.

It's so very peaceful to walk in the drizzling rain. The damp earth smells wonderful.  It's quiet, just the sound of the raindrops, a few birds, and the tree frogs. It's beautiful with raindrops clinging to everything.

It's magical!

You might want to try it sometime. Pick a day when there is a soft drizzle, grab your raincoat and rain boots and head out. Oh, don't forget your camera because you can always find something intriguing and beautiful to capture when you walk in God's creation.

Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops.
Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

  1. I LOVE walking in the rain...with or without my camera! AS I've spent more time with my camera these last few years, I'v grown very fond of rain drops and puddles!

  3. Beautiful photos, as always! I love to walk in the rain and take photos. I remember one day in early spring last year I took a little photo walk and snapped so many photos of raindrops on the flowers. It was magical. I felt so refreshed and alive afterwards. Happy snapping!! :)

  5. Cathy - I think perhaps I need to take your advice. Rain has always been my least favorite type of weather. But using your images as examples, it would behoove me to take a walk the next time. Such beautiful rain drops, covering everything. And you found another heart! Thank you for the inspiration.

  7. You're right - I tend to stay in (if I can) when it's raining. These are beautiful photos, though, I guess I need to brave it now and then.
