Scavenger Hunt Sunday ~ April 1, 2012

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Another week has rolled around, this one brought beautiful sunny skies and hot temperatures; eighty degrees when we should just be in the upper sixties! One day I decided to check out what was blooming at Wildwood Park. I took my lists of prompts for this week and set about fulfilling them!  It was fun specifically look for the five items all in one morning at one place!

Our prompts this week were:
  • clouds
  • sun flare
  • seven
  • high angle
  • low angle

Clouds
On the edge of a beautiful lake sits this rock gazebo with arched openings. A perfect place to look at blue skies and fluffy clouds!

Sun flare
The sun was high as I looked out the arch, creating a lovely sun flare.

Seven
Seven was harder to find. I did find a branch with seven leaves, but that just didn't work for me. Then I saw this beautiful Rhododendron with only seven flowers on this blossom were open. I wish I could put a scratch and sniff button on my blog!  With so many of these bushes blooming along a pathway, the air was filled with the most delicate and enchanting fragrance!
Mountain Azalea Rhododendron Prinophyllium (nudiflorium) Arkansas Native

High Angle
This scripture verse is in the center of the gazebo.

 Low Angle
I'm on my knees at the bottom of a hill looking up at the sky!  This rock garden was my favorite area of the park!

“If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy,
if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you,
if the simple things in nature have a message you understand,
Rejoice, for your soul is alive.”
~ Elenora Duse

Wishing you a beautiful week filled with beautiful things!
