In Memory

In memory of
Dylan Michael Moon
January 3, 2008 - September 16, 2013

All of our lives have been touched by sorrow at one time or another, but it is especially hard when we lose a child. Dylan is my sister's five year old grandson.   Dylan was a happy guy with eyes that sparkled and a great big smile. He contacted a very rare strain of meningitis that took him less than eight hours after the first symptom.

When I thought of those who visit here, I knew that if I shared this, you would pray for Dylan's family. I know prayer can be powerful and comforting.

Would you do something else for me? Would you give an extra hug or kiss or a simple "I love you" to your children, your grandchildren or any of your loved ones. Times like this remind us just how fragile life is.

Thank you and sending my love to you.

  5. Oh Cathy, that is so sad. I will definitely keep his family in my prayers. Thankfully I will be seeing Mallory in a couple days and I will definitely be giving her a big hug. I learned that life is way too precious after her car accident in Jan. 2012.

  6. I saw the brightly colored picture and thought, 'how happy!'
    And then I read.
Many Prayers to all, including the Great Aunt.
Take good care of each other.

  8. I work with such sorrow as this every day and your heart breaks every time as you try to be a healing presence. There are no words, no trite sayings, no balm that makes at better when everything is so raw. Just know I'm holding you and the family up in prayer in the days to come. "The life you have left is a gift. Do what matters most...now." Please be gentle with yourself at this time.

  14. Oh I am so sorry to hear this news. I've been gone for a few days and missed seeing this. Of course prayers will be said for your family. Losing a child is never easy and so suddenly like this is even harder to understand. I pray right now for peace and comfort for the family.

  16. I have read this several times and have been unable to type through my tears. This is so special and comforting to me. I'm so glad you were able to be with us on those first few days. I am still crying as I type but I wanted you to know how much this means to me.
