30 Days of Gratitude - Day 18

I am grateful for the incredible beauty of the ordinary.

"Looking at everything as if for the first time
reveals the commonplace to be utterly incredible,
if only we can be alive to the newness of it."

  1. I love this photo and quotation. This is a perfect example of what photography does for me. Who thinks to look at the amazing detail of a flower after the petals are gone? The quotation is so, so true.

  2. Beautiful marriage of photo and quote. If only we slowed down enough to really see….

  3. Yes, looking at things as if for the very first time allows us to see them anew. I love the hairy filaments on that little seed pod.

  4. So encouraging to see you keep up with your 30 Days of Gratitude. Love that line - alive to the newness of it. I am seeking that feeling as the holidays approach - to see everything as through the eyes of a child - full of wonder and gratitude. Lovely photo and sentiment.

  5. Excellent plus for the photo and the quote. So true. Wish more people would realize that. Our society is too fast passed. They miss out on so many wonderful things God has placed here for us to enjoy.

I am always encouraged by your blog. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
