100 Day Project 2021

August 10, 1931 - July 3, 2015

In the last few months my mom was strong. She was determined and she was a little bit stubborn. After three months in rehab she was able to come home. Although she was in a wheelchair she never gave up. She did absolutely everything her doctors, nurses, and therapists asked of her. During this month she rebuilt some of her strength and was able to walk short distances with a walker. Last Tuesday she even walked outside to see her hydrangea bushes. She was determined that the stroke was not going to conquer her. My mom passed away very unexpectedly on Friday. We're not sure, but we think it may have been another stroke. The time I spent with my mom this last month wasn't always easy, but it was a special gift from God. Please keep our family in your prayers.

  2. Oh, Cathy, my heart is broken for you and your Dad and family. No words can ever express this sadness but if you have to go I think this was the best way to die, not giving up and not lingering either. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.

  9. Cathy I am so sorry to hear this news. I've been a bit "behind" obviously on blog visits. I know it's hard to lose a parent (having lost my dad 17 years ago) so I understand some of what you are going through. - I know you will miss your mom but it's wonderful that you were able to spend time with her like you did the last few months. Prayers for comfort being sent your way. Hugs
